I participated in a tour of the Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna) in the Ischigualasto Natural Park.
There are many interesting rocks. It seems that many fossils are found, and we visited a small museum during the tour.
■ Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna) Tour: 160 pesos
The tour uses a convoy system where you travel in your own car or motorcycle.
There may be other tours or shuttle buses available, but when I applied, they told me to "line up in that row with your own car," so that seems to be the normal way.
↓ The ticket office and starting point are around here.
When I arrived at the location, the next tour was scheduled to depart at 14:30, so I hurried to get in line and we departed. I don't know how frequently they depart, but I thought I saw other convoys in the distance, so perhaps they depart quite frequently. It might have been a vehicle belonging to the staff.
Besides me, there were also a few other people on motorcycles, so I decided to follow them.
The road is a dirt road (flat dirt), but there were also many regular cars, so the difficulty level isn't very high.
However, the other motorcycle riders were on off-road bikes, so their pace was fast.
I was able to keep up because it was a flat dirt road, but it would have been dangerous if it had been rough.
At first, most of the cars were driving slowly, but when it was time to return, everyone had increased their pace (laugh).
