Redwood National Park.

We have arrived at Redwood National Park.
Personally, this is the national park in the continental United States that I wanted to visit the most, and it has giant trees in abundance that live up to expectations. If you imagine combining Yakushima and Oirase Stream and expanding the scale, that might give you an idea.

There are many strong and magnificent giant trees. However, here, they seem to be relatively young, like teenagers or young adults.
They have been here throughout the history of human activity, and they have been silently here even during World War II when airplanes flew overhead.

I went to see the famous "Big Tree," but it was surprisingly young, said to be about 1500 years old.
When I asked a ranger, the oldest ones are at most about 2000 years old, because the forest undergoes renewal due to fires, so they cannot grow any larger.
If that's the case, does that mean that sequoias are a relatively fast-growing type of tree?
I feel like Yakusugi trees, which are about 1000 years old, are smaller.
I think the Yakushima Jomon Sugi is estimated to be 4000 years old, so in terms of age, Yakushima is surprisingly older.
However, in terms of the impact of height and girth, sequoias are overwhelmingly superior.People playing on top of a giant tree. There are a large number of trees of this size.
