I visited the Natsume Soseki Memorial Museum.

To be honest, I only read his works during my student days, but it became a general education experience. Sometimes, it's good to do things like this.

When I actually came here, I realized that Natsume Soseki's house, even though it's in Waseda, is right near Kagurazaka, and you can get a sense of his living environment. You can really understand this kind of geographical context when you visit. There are many writers in this area.

His time overlapped with that of Lafcadio Hearn and Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and I felt a connection to the times. When you read a single sentence from his works as you get older, you feel that the interpretation of the meaning is different from when you were a student. I remember my school teacher saying something similar.

I used to be very fond of Lafcadio Hearn, and I remembered that when I visited Izumo Taisha Shrine, I often stopped by the Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum in Matsue City.
