Move to the Grand Canyon.
Grand Canyon.
We have arrived at the Grand Canyon. This is amazing.
It's a very popular spot, but it far exceeds the images and videos I've seen. I almost skipped it.
In terms of its location, it's comparable to Salar de Uyuni. In terms of personal preference, it might even surpass Uyuni. It's rare to have expectations exceeded at such a famous place.
I've seen places in South America and other regions that are called "○○ Grand Canyon," but those places are compared to the Grand Canyon because the Grand Canyon is overwhelmingly outstanding, almost to the point of being unfair or disrespectful.
While there are many places in South America with stunning views and similar vastness as valleys, the Grand Canyon is my favorite in terms of the richness of its geological layers and the beauty of its landscape.
I feel that even my own photos, and any photos I've seen before, only capture about 30% of its true beauty and magnificence.
I looked up the origin of the name "Grand Canyon" in a book at the Visitor Center, and it seems that it naturally became known by that name at some point.
The reason is obvious when you see it in person.
Just like "Grandfather/Mother" for elderly people, this is the "Grand Canyon," an incredibly great and ancient canyon. The name is perfectly fitting, and it's no exaggeration. Because half of Earth's history is right here. That makes sense.
