Move to Matera.

I will travel to Matera by train. The stations for the private railway Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) line in Bari are as follows:↑ I got on at the second floor of the corner building (apparently, in Italy, it's called the "First Floor").
From the building that is the second one from the corner, a different route seems to be departing.
There was an Information counter at the building that is the second one from the corner, so I bought a ticket at the vending machine in front of it. Actually, I asked the person at the Information counter, and they operated the machine and entered the ticket information for me.
It seems that tickets can also be purchased at the corner building. The buildings are connected, but they are not internally connected, so you have to go outside and re-enter, but since they seem to be the same company, the tickets are common.
It's 4.9 euros one way. There is no round-trip discount.

It seems that not all vehicles go all the way. Some are detached along the way, and only the rear part goes to Matera.
When I asked a staff member, they showed me "this one," and the destination is also written on the monitor inside, so I probably won't make a mistake.

I arrived in Matera in about an hour and a half.

The Sassi and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Matera.

Visit the Sassi and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Matera.
This place is famous for its cave dwellings, called "Sassi."

It's a little cloudy and there's a light drizzle, but there aren't many places that suit a cloudy day quite like this.

Convento di Sant'Agostino in Matera.

Let's go to the church called Convento di Sant'Agostino, which is located on a small hill in Matera.
Recently, the inside of churches has been cool, but today, the inside is warmer.

Parrocchia San Giovanni Battista in Matera.

Let's go to the small church of Parrocchia San Giovanni Battista in Matera.
It's a peaceful place, considering its size, and it might be the best church in Matera. (Don't expect too much, but it's a place where you can relax, compared to other churches in Matera.)

Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Matera.

I entered the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Matera, which is located on a high place.
It looks a little old and is currently under renovation. The frescoes are just so-so.

Matera, Museo Nazionale d’Arte Medievale e Moderna della Basilicata.

I went to the Museo Nazionale d’Arte Medievale e Moderna della Basilicata in Matera.
I didn't have high expectations, but surprisingly, there were many paintings and other artworks on display.
However, the style felt a bit twisted, not straightforward.
I wonder what kind of selection process they used?
