Move to La Paz.

I have arrived in La Paz.
There are rumors that the Public Order is bad, but the atmosphere is not bad.

La Paz city.

There are many travel agencies here, so I asked about the Huayna Potosí mountain climb, which is advertised as "climbable by anyone," even though it wasn't in my plans. The price is 970 Bolivianos, about 15,000 yen, for a 2-night, 3-day trip.

However, it seems much harder than I expected. I probably won't climb it.

The phrase "climbable by anyone" is an exaggeration, and it seems to mean "you can participate in the tour without any qualifications or self-declaration." In other words, it's a Bolivian-style "probably okay" kind of thing.
As expected of Bolivia, the actual difficulty level is probably quite high. I almost ended up booking it with a hiking mindset. That would have been bad.

Even if you look at this blog, you can see how high the difficulty level is. The motivation to climb to the cliff-edged summit while jumping over crevasses in the darkness is something I don't have.
Even though I'm already a slow climber, there's no way I can keep up with a pace that experienced climbers would consider "fast."
At the end, it's a level that would make mountain rescue team members cringe.
No Huayna Potosí climb! Absolutely impossible. Actually, if I went, there's about a 5% chance I would die.

■ Future Plans
5/5-9 Bolivia - Lunahuaná, Amazon tour

5/11-13 Copacabana
5/14-16 Enter Peru, Puno
5/17 Peru - Cusco
5/20 Machu Picchu
5/25 Around Lima
6/1-7 Around Easter Island, 4-5 days? May need to stay overnight due to transit (may be postponed and go from Bogota depending on the schedule and airline tickets)
6/10 Around Lima departure
6/12-15 Around trekking in Huaraz
6/20 Around entering Ecuador
6/28 Around entering Colombia
7/4 Around arrival in Bogota, dispose of motorcycle
7/6 Colombia departure, from Bogota to Alaska (tickets already obtained)
If there's time, Angel Falls in Venezuela
10/2 Return to Los Angeles (tickets already obtained)

Postscript:
The economic crisis in Venezuela seems to be severe...
- Oil exports are a fraction of what they were in 2004.
- Annual inflation of 480%.
- Food shortages.
For travelers, it's a chance to travel cheaply, but there are concerns about safety and the safety of infrastructure.

Postscript:
I didn't go to Venezuela because the security situation has deteriorated significantly.

Other motorcycle riders.

Tiahuanaco ruins.

I was planning to go to the Tiwanaku ruins by motorcycle, but since a tour with an English guide and round-trip shuttle costs 65 Bolivianos, approximately 1,000 yen, I decided to see it on a tour. If I went by motorcycle, I would have to worry about my luggage, but the tour is reassuring in that regard.

The Tiwanaku ruins were just okay.

Chacaltaya mountain.

Since Waynapotosi is difficult, I decided to go on a day hike to a different mountain.
The price is 80 Bolivianos, which is about 1,300 yen.

I climbed to the summit of Chacaltaya, which is 5400m.
However, I only walked the last 100m, which took about 30 minutes (laugh).

Valle de la Luna

The Chacaltaya mountain tour included a visit to Moon Valley, so I decided to go.
If you say it's the moon, then I suppose it might be.

Iglesia de San Francisco

San Francisco Museum.

Museum of Ethnography.
