Traveling from Pasto, Colombia to Ibarra, Ecuador by motorcycle.

I crossed the border.

Until the border, security within Colombia was strict, and I didn't feel much anxiety.
Because yesterday was the election, security seems to be particularly strict until today.
As a result, I was able to pass through a troubled area in Colombia at just the right time.

At the border, if you want a stamp, you go to the office yourself and get it stamped. For cars, it seems like you can easily pass through without any checks. I wonder if that's okay.

On the Colombian side of the border, there was a sale of compulsory third-party liability insurance (SOAT), but there was no sale of compulsory third-party liability insurance (SOAT) on the Ecuadorian side. So, I went to the nearest town, but there was none there either.
As expected, it seems that from this year, compulsory third-party liability insurance (SOAT) is included as a national annual tax, so it seems that foreigners cannot join.

So, I drove to my accommodation for tonight, Ibarra.
I've also seen posts on overseas forums that say "You have to be careful and drive without insurance." Or, you might have to get a very expensive international insurance (but I don't know where to get it). Basically, I intended to get it at the border, and since I'll only be driving for about 1-2 weeks, I want to be careful while driving in Ecuador.

In developing countries, you're basically at a disadvantage, and I have travel insurance, so the minimum coverage for my body is fine.

Ibarra, Iglesia La Basilica Dolorosa church.

I went to the Iglesia La Basilica Dolorosa church, which is just a short walk away.
It's surprisingly large, but the interior seems simple.
