I once wanted to ride in a convertible, so I bought one used.
I am very satisfied with the fact that it is a convertible.
The following is a highly personal evaluation.
| Item. | Score (1-10) | Comment. |
| Being open. | 10 | Purchased for this purpose. |
| coolness. | 9 | Basically, it's a good design, but I don't like the "bubble" feeling a little. |
| Driving performance. | 3 | It's not good if it requires a lot of mental effort. It should look cool, but it doesn't need to have the driving performance of a sports car. I've driven it for about 5,000 km, and I'm starting to get used to it, but it takes too long to get used to it. |
| Luggage. | 5 | It can surprisingly fit a lot. It's sufficient as a replacement for a motorcycle, but it's narrow as a car. |
| Total. | 8 | Basically, I am satisfied. |
Even when I was riding motorcycles or large scooters, I thought the same thing.
Both have a main target audience of the bubble generation, so their driving characteristics and sporty nature are very unique.
I don't think it's suitable for people in their 30s or younger, a generation that is distancing itself from cars.
Since there are no other options for convertibles, it feels like I'm forcing myself to fit in.
Even if it's difficult, I'm riding because I like open-top cars.
Recently, I drove a Mazda Atenza and an Axela, and I wonder if the driving performance is supposed to be like that.
The Atenza's performance is amazing because it remains stable even when it reaches speeds close to 160 km/h, but...
For leisurely driving in an open environment, such high performance is not necessary.
The accelerator should be directly connected to the open area, and it should be comfortable and easy to drive.
If you try to force me to buy a sports car, I will not buy it.
If the target audience is the bubble generation, it might be unavoidable, but I don't think young people will buy it.
If the Mazda CX-5 were to be directly converted into a convertible, then it would be a candidate for the next model.
<A few words, on my own.>
I want to say something about car commercials.
Two-seater or four-seater, they probably use these Western terms to try to sound cool, but...
For young people, they don't feel any coolness in those foreign words at all.
It simply feels like a bubble.
It would be better to just say "two seats" or "four seats."
When I was in my teens, I always wondered, "What does 'two-seater' mean?" And "What does 'four-seater' mean?"
I thought it was incomprehensible.
Saying "cheater" is the epitome of self-satisfaction.
Even if you say something like that, I want a car that is somewhat inexpensive and open-source.
I don't intend to pay a large sum of money for a car, but if there is a car that is safer than a motorcycle and still offers some fun, I would buy it.
This has problems with drivability and other aspects.
The car had several years of dealer insurance, and its condition was good. Also, the body price was only a few hundred thousand yen, so I decided to buy it.
The total cost, including taxes and top hood replacement, is about 700,000 yen, but it's enough for a little bit of fun.
I bought this because the loan for the used condominium apartment ended a while ago, but...
I had absolutely no intention of buying it while I had a loan for the apartment.
