Motorcycle considerations.
Today, I was planning to visit some motorcycle shops, but on Sundays, almost all motorcycle shops are closed.
So, I had no choice but to peek inside the shops to check the lineup, and then I just looked at motorcycles driving around town.
In town, I saw a lot of Bajaj's small motorcycles. Also, I often saw TVS Apache series motorcycles in town.
http://www.tvsmotos.com.co/motos/street/apache-xventure-180
Honda is also doing well. I saw a lot of Bajaj's Pulsar. Surprisingly, I didn't see many Chinese-made products, which shows that Indian companies are doing well.
The price of new small motorcycles (around 150cc) is about 170,000 to 230,000 yen. Of course, Indian-made products are cheaper than Japanese brands.
For off-road motorcycles, the Yamaha Tenere 250 might be a good option.http://www.incolmotos-yamaha.com.co/site/productos/motos/turismo/xt250z-tenere However, a new one costs about 500,000 yen. If I buy one, I think I would plan to bring it back to Japan.
For some reason, I feel like the TVS Apache is a good option right now. It has a larger fuel tank (16L) than its competitors in the same price range, which allows for a longer range. If it runs 40-50km/L, it can travel 600km. The off-road bike, the Tenere 250, has good performance, but its fuel tank is 16L and its fuel efficiency is about 30km/L, so the estimated range is 400km. It's not a short distance, but in South America, where there are fewer gas stations in some areas, the ability to travel 600km with the former is attractive.
TVS is a company that has been around for over 100 years, and it has been collaborating with Suzuki to manufacture motorcycles since the 1980s. Recently, it has been collaborating with BMW, so it seems that the quality is not a problem, at least in terms of its background. Whether it meets Japanese quality standards is another matter, but since it is sold in the South American market, TVS is a good option if you are looking at it in the same context. Of course, if you spend 5,000-10,000 USD, you can buy a good bike like a BMW, but that is not what I am aiming for.
TVS also operates a bus business in India, and it seems that the quality of the buses is good (for India) and that they have few breakdowns, so they are able to operate on schedule. This suggests that they have a certain level of quality control.
For now, based on my preliminary research, I think TVS is a good option.

South American motorcycle touring routes.
Traveling around South America, the minimum would be reaching Ushuaia, and the maximum would be going all the way to North America, including Alaska.
I haven't thought about Central America yet, so for now, I will focus on South America.

Motorcycle delivery.
I finally received my motorcycle.
I ordered it last Tuesday, and it was delivered today, which is also a Tuesday, so it took exactly one week.
The woman below was my contact person and took care of various things for me.

The meter also starts from zero, and even when I return to the hotel, it's only about 3 km.

The brakes are also in good condition.

It only has an 180cc engine, and even at a high altitude of 2600m, it has sufficient acceleration.
The gears are working normally, and the brakes, although I've only tested them at low speeds, are not causing any complaints so far.
The stability at low speeds is also sufficient. I haven't tried it at high speeds yet.
It's more than enough power for a leisurely ride.
The store where I purchased it is a fairly large chain store with branches throughout Colombia.
Also, based on my brief test ride today, it seems to be in good condition, and I don't feel any particular concerns, so I will head south towards Cali from Bogota without stopping to check anything there.
